هذا الكتاب.. هو روح ونبض ... شغف وكشف .. عقل وجموح وتساؤلات وسنوات .. ، لم اكتبه في لحظة محددة ، لكنه يمتد من الحاضر إلى الماضى ويشاغب المستقبل ، زمنه الأعلى يقترب من العشرين عامًا ، تابعت خلالها الفارس المثقف السيد حافظ وهو يكتب المسرح والرواية،  يبوح ويروح ويكشف ويغنى للوطن والحرية ، فهو صاحب الروح الشفافة والوعي النار والحس الأسطورى ... ، هو لحظة فارقة فى تاريخ المسرح ، وهو خطوط فاصلة في قلب الرواية العربية .... ، سيذكره التاريخ مؤكدًا أنه من الكبار العظماء الذين غيروا المسارات وبحثوا عن النجوم وأضاءوا الظلام  .

منحنى السيد حافظ تلك الدهشة العارمة الغامضة حين أدركت أنه يرى المستقبل ...، يتنبأ بما سيكون قبل أن يكون ، لكنه يعيش حلمًا ذهبيًا يدفعه دومًا إلى القبض على جمرات الفن النارية بحثًا عن وجود إنساني  تكتمل فيه قداسة الحياة.

تقديم

    حروب المثقفين اليوم طاحنة، وأعداؤهم كثيرون، وبنادقهم تطلق للخلف، وهي مكتومة الصّوت، مخافة إزعاج السلطان في حريمه. أمّا أصدقاؤهم فتراهم في المنتجعات والشواطئ ينعمون بشمس الاسكندريّة الدافئة وبحسناوات بيروت اللاتي انزعجن من انفجارات السياسيين ودسائس المخابرات من كلّ صوبٍ وحدبٍ، فهرعن إلى أمّ الدّنيا، طلبا للسلامة.
    أمّا البؤساء فإنّهم أُبعدوا إلى الربع الخالي، وبعضهم انسلّ إلى مثلث برمودا مفضلين العيش مع ياجوج وماجوج، في انتظار أن يقتصّوا لهم من كبرائهم وأسيادهم الذين أرهقوهم بالقوانين وبحضر التجول وسياسة التقشّف، حتّى ما عادوا يتقنون الابتسامة في وجه الأطفال الصّغار.
    لم يبق في الميدان لإدارة أمّ المعارك إلاّ المبدعون من روائيين ومسرحيين وسينمائيين، فعسى أولئك أن ينتصروا للإنسان ويسترجعوا ما ضاع عنه من آدميّة ومروءة، إذا ما عبّأوا بنادقهم ببارود قاتل، وسلموها لرماة مهرة. فالمسرح اليوم هو الرّصاصة الوحيدة التي نطلقها فلا تقتل إلاّ أهدافها الحقيقيّة ولا تحيي إلاّ الرّجال الذين دأبوا على صناعة فرحة الشّعوب وزرع الأمل في النفوس واقتلاع القنوط والقبح. المسرح بندقيّة ذكيّة، تُلقي الكلمة الواحدة فتحيي بها أنفسا وتقتل أخرى. تصنع الطّرفةَ تُضحِكُ بها البعضَ وتبكي آخرين.
